FWLD with the support of USAID/UKAid/Winrock International organized a Consultation Meeting with Media on Necessity of Provincial and Local Level Committees to Control Human Trafficking on 25 September 2019. The program was graced by Ms. Rudra Devi Sharma, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizen. In the program, Ms. Sharma discussed that it is necessary to amend the act in order to form the provincial and local level committees. However, she stated that they are trying to make the District level committee functional till the amendment is made and committed that Ministry and National Committee is trying it’s best to combat trafficking through various programs and rehabilitation and rescue efforts.
