FWLD seeks experts for conducting “Fact-Finding Study on Abuses, Violence, and Violations of Rights Experienced by Women during Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Postpartum period in Nepal” under the program Promoting Accountability towards Advancing Gender Equality and Women’s Rights in Nepal. The study will be conducted in 14 districts of Nepal, three districts from each province, with one rural and one urban area. The main objective of this fact-finding study is to comprehensively document the nature, prevalence, and consequences of abuses, violence, and violations experienced by women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the post-childbirth situation in Nepal, to inform evidence-based interventions and policy reforms to ensure respectful and dignified maternal care for all women.
Positions:
1. Research Consultant
Key Responsibilities:
-Orient the enumerators, provide guidance, monitor and supervise the enumerators throughout the field, conduct research and data analysis based on the outcomes of the field work, and prepare the final draft.
2. Research Assistant
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the consultant in producing a detailed report including findings, analysis, and recommendations
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of collected data by following study protocols and guidelines.
3. Research Enumerators
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct field data collection through interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of collected data by following study protocols and guidelines.
Educational Qualification and Experience:
Research Consultant
- Master’s degree in law with at least 5 years of experience in conducting research in the field of social sciences.
- The candidate must have standard-quality research design, methodology development, data analysis, report writing skills, and experience leading research projects.
Research Assistant
- Master’s degree in a relevant subject and at least 1-2 years of experience in data analysis (both qualitative and quantitative), data visualization, interpretation, and report writing.
Research Enumerators
- A minimum bachelor’s degree (preferably a Master’s) in a relevant subject and at least 1-2 years of experience collecting data, including surveys, conducting interviews, and facilitating focus group discussions within the community.
