Concluding Observations to Nepal by UN Human Rights Treaty Bodies on Citizenship (English)

Nepal having ratified a series of human rights treaties and a member state of the United Nations, is obligated to abide by the principles of the conventions and uphold the values of fundamental human rights, and ensure equal rights of men and women.1 The Charter of the UN further imposes a duty on member states to promote “universal respect for and observance of, human rights and fundamental freedoms of all without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion.”
