The Safe Abortion Day Program was held on 26th September 2018 chaired by Dr. Pushpa Chaudhary, Secretary of Ministry of Health and Population along with the presence of Honorable Dr. Surendra Kumar Yadav, State Ministry of Health and Population as Chief Guest and DG of DoHS, DDA, FWD, all division of MoHP, DoHS, representative from RHRWG as guests. Participants from different civil society organizations, media persons, government officials and RHRWG attended the program. The representative from RHRWG Dr. Shibesh Chandra Regmi gave the presentation which highlighted importance of accessibility of safe abortion services in every corner. The remarks from Chief Guest and guest were mainly focused on Safe Abortion Day celebration and its importance to discuss about the safe abortion services. Most importantly, there is a need of coordination between government and non-government organizations to jointly work for minimization of unsafe abortions.
