A National Consultation was organized by SRPC in coordination with FWLD on the CEDAW Shadow Report on 20 September, 2018 at Kwality Banquet, Buddhanagar. The chairperson for the program was Ms. Chandani Joshi, ex South Asia Regional Head of UN Women, the chief guest was honorable minister of Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizen Ms. Tham Maya Thapa and the special guest was Ms. Bandana Rana, CEDAW Committee Member. The commenced consultation comprised of few words kept by the chairperson, chief guest and special guest following with an introductory presentation by Mr. Sabin Shrestha on CEDAW, Shadow report. It was followed by division into 16 groups of 16 Articles of CEDAW and a group discussion was done. The discussion was on the State party’s report, List of Issues, Draft CEDAW Shadow Report, Government’s reply on the List of Issues. After the discussion, 16 presentations were made by 16 groups on the 16 Articles and at the end of every presentation, recommendations and feedback were taken and ending the presentation with the endorsement of the Article report.
