FWLD organized a public hearing program on December 12, 2016 inviting lawmakers Hon’ble Dil Bahadur Gharti, Hon’ble Shakti Basnet, Hon’ble Laxman Lal Karna and Mr. Yogesh Bhattarai and putting them face to face with persons who have been denied citizenship certificate by the laws of Nepal. The concerned persons put their questions directly to the lawmakers and sought answers on why their application for the citizenship certificate of Nepal been denied. The media also attended the program and asked questions to the lawmakers and the affected persons.

The participants of the program were Arjun Kumar Sah from Mahottari, Suraj Hazare Dahal from Pokhara and Suku Maya Tamang from Makwanpur. The hearing was facilitated by Subin Mulmi from FWLD.
